14 sept 04 --POTD--the thinnest sheet

Today was hang the laundry day. hang the dryer is broken laundry day. and i hung my favorite sheet. and i had fun taking pictures of it through out the day on smoke breaks. the result, one of them, is today's photo of the day.

13 sept 2004 --POTD-- the garage behind the house

In pursuit of some images that aren't of my backyard for the photolog, ive decided to begin trailing down the alley some. Not far. Not so far that i can't hear my msn beep. but far enough we get some new subjects.

this isn't for me. it's for you.

a man could spend his entire life documenting the varied existence in one backyard. but would an audience spend an entire life looking at it? doubtful.

being the shell of a man i am, i must bow to your needs.

this is me bowing. this is me on bended knee.

12 sept 04 --POTD-- the ends

There is also a new photoblock up. I didn't mean to run them one a day, only when i felt like it, but now it's become a ritual. i like rituals. they keep the chaos in check. i think, if i can pry my weary mind from lazyland tonight, i want to write something about the year since i moved. it was meant to be a pivotal year for me, and i feel in many unxpected ways it was.

despite what some who may observe from their shaw (stupid mistake) connections might think.

10 sept 04 -- POTD -- anna series 2, no. 1

It seems fitting to me somehow that my 100th photo of the day is some of my best work. Candid portraiture is hard work sometimes. Even though you would think, getting to hang around a beautiful woman for hours is fun, it's still work. and hard work, it pays off people.

ive also added another photoblock called "early fall" but i'm not going to link to them every time i add one. check it. don't check it. bookmark it, rssify it. whatever.

im old. sick and lazy.

9 sept 04 -- POTD-- The Birth?

This shot of teg setting up a night shot of the corner and sign at about 3:00am out in the bush just moved me. I like the motion and how despite the blur you can see her focus to the task at hand. I wonder if it's the birth of a life long love of photography for her.

02 sept 04 --POTD--the size of man

I was fortunate enough to miss my bus and have to wait 45 mins for the next one, which put me (some five hours later) at the train station right at sunset, and right in the middle of a storm.

i got some great stuff. today's POTD makes me remember our size in the scheme of things.
